…and he’s crisscrossing the state of Pennsylvania with former Democratic Senator Harris Wofford. Two years after his reelection defeat, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) is calling on his fellow Pennsylvanians to put partisanship aside and pressure both presidential candidates to invest more in fighting global poverty and disease.

Wofford tells The Crypt that Pennsylvanians aren’t surprised to see the pair campaigning together because the odd couple teamed up once before to promote faith-based efforts. The campaign is part of ONE Vote ‘O8.

Calling on folks to support more spending overseas at a time of economic peril has been difficult, Wofford says, but not much trickier than it has been before. “It’s a perennial difficulty,” says Wofford.
