Mike Allen has word of a pro-McCain ad buy next week:

The first major independent advertising benefiting Senator McCain will begin next week when VETS FOR FREEDOM, a 20,000-member, non-partisan organization established by combat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, launches a $1 million + TV campaign. Ohio, Virginia and New Mexico are included in the initial buy.

The ad, the largest independent expenditure on a national-security theme in the general election so far, features a number of vets speaking about the success of the surge and the need to finish the job. The buy is part of a "Four Months, For Victory" media and grassroots campaign by Vets for Freedom, focusing on MN, IA, WI, MI, PA, NV, NM, MO, CO, OH, FL, and VA.
