As evidence points to the notion that John McCain is at least considering a pro-abortion rights running mate, the GOP nominee will face a sometimes critic on the right this morning.

McCain is slated to appear on Laura Ingraham’s talk show at 11:10. It’s McCain’s first appearance on the show since winning the nomination.

Ingraham and other conservative talk radio hosts have been warming to McCain as he has taken a more aggressive stand on issues like energy and mounted a harder-edged strategy toward Obama. But news that McCain is considering a running mate who has supported abortion rights has resurrected the wariness that such conservatives have long held about McCain.   

He’ll certainly be asked about the matter by Ingraham this morning.
