Just a thought experiment:One of Jeremiah Wright’s more inflammatory riff’s — his attack on Hillary — reportedly came during his Christmas sermon. What if it had aired in the next few days, in the week leading up to the Iowa caucuses?Would it have dominated the news? Would it have freaked out Iowa caucusgoers?Or would the press have been unready to treat Obama as a candidate serious enough that a question like that would bear scrutiny. (It’s not like Wright was unknown then.)Or are most Democratic primary voters — with the exception of some Rust Belt Reagan Democrats — basically not hugely troubled by Wright?
