Will railing on Heath Shuler’s sh—y football record for the ‘Skins ever get old?

Short answer: No. (Seriously, can’t the GOPers come up with something else to lambast him on?)

He’s campaigning in Alabama today for Bobby Bright and so Bright’s opponent, Jay Love, has sent out the following missive, which in a loose translation says: Blah blah blah, he was a terrible football player,  blah blah blah, he scored more points for the other team than his own, blah blah bah he’s doing the same thing now in Congress. Our favorite part, however, is that his name is misspelled, oh and, don’t they mean "toe the line?"

Congressman Heath Schuler (D-NC) has had a varied career from the gridiron to the halls of Congress. Unfortunately for football fans and conservatives, he has consistently scored more points for the other team in both endeavors. Shuler ran for Congress in 2006 touting his “conservative” beliefs and vowing to be a “Blue Dog” Democrat who wouldn’t tote the line for liberals.
Sound familiar?
Once elected, however, Shuler was intercepted by incoming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and has been a star player for her team of liberal Democrats ever since. Now Heath Shuler wants to tell voters in the 2nd Congressional District to support his good friend Bobby Bright who’ll be just as “conservative” in Washington as he is. If that’s true, then Alabama conservatives should be as worried as Redskins fans about having sending another Shuler to Washington only to have him change team jerseys along the way.
