Last week, I asked Cissy Baker—now bureau chief of the combined Tribune bureau in D.C.—about who’d cover the Obama White House. Baker said that specific beats wouldn’t be assigned until after “all the dust settles” from the shake-up coming out of Chicago. Since then, the dust has settled in the form of several layoffs and buyouts.
But now, according to sources, I’ve learned that the White House team has been established, and will include reporters Christi Parsons, Michael Dorning, Jill Zuckman, and Peter Nicholas. In addition, Peter Wallsten will be covering the White House in his role as political writer.
A call to Baker was not immediately returned.
